Job summary

Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association, Inc. seeks an experienced Owner's Representative Safety Manager for night shifts on a large-scale data center construction project in Ridgeville, SC.

You will provide independent owner-side safety oversight and enforce project safety standards across general contractors and subcontractors. The role requires BCSP CHST or CSP, 5–10 years of construction safety, and direct owner-side safety oversight experience on data centers.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Experience supervising safety on owner-side for data center or mission-critical projects.
• Strong ability to assess project risks and enforce corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent owner-side safety oversight during all night shift operations.
• Monitor safety performance of contractors and trades.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, observations and risk assessments.
• Review safety programs, AHAs, JHAs, lift plans and corrective actions.
• Monitor steel erection, pipe installation and critical lifts.
• Identify systemic risks and safety concerns for the project.
• Collaborate with owner representatives, contractor leadership and stakeholders.
• Recommend improvements to project-wide safety performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and owner expectations.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action reviews.
• Track safety metrics and contractor accountability.
