Summary

Assists in the efficient operation of the facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates computerized inventory software to load outbound trucks with product, communicating with drivers and other operation personnel as necessary. Provides drivers with outbound scale ticket and generates Bill of Lading.
  • Assists Production Operators and provides necessary backup by operating steam flakers, steam boilers, mixers, pellet mills, loaders and other equipment to meet production schedule and deliver product.
  • Performs various other duties including but not limited to answering phones, cleaning the office, maintaining related files and inventory of supplies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

One or more years experience in milling and/or grain handling operations; or one year certificate from college or technical school in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute and apply rates, ratios, and percentages in practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Requirements
  • Weigh Master Certificate.
  • Must be a licensed driver of single axle vehicles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in Windows based computer applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures and practices applicable to the operation of mill equipment.
