Job summary

Independence Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech for the 1D night shift in Greensburg, PA. This role supports direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of RNs/LPNs and participates in daily rounds and patient safety initiatives.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, good communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. Completion of a Nurse Aide program is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
• Sound judgment, problem solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to follow directions from other team members; works independently assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols and standards of care.
• Perform and/or assist with patient care needs as directed and assist patient with activities of daily living.
• Respond to call lights, inquiries and requests from patients and families in a timely manner.
• Collect, document and report ongoing patient care data as directed.
• Measure and/or document intake and output, including drainage and obtain daily weights when indicated.
• Provide for patient safety and maintain a clean, safe environment on the unit.
