Job summary

Newport Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will assist patients and families from admission to discharge, perform basic personal care, and help maintain a safe environment within hospital policies.

Night shifts with 36 hours weekly, 7pm–7:30am, every other weekend/holiday. Required Rhode Island Nursing Assistant license, BLS, and good computer skills; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
Ability to perform basic computer skills.
Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
Knowledge to provide care to patients across the life span.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
Perform Personal Care Skills as part of routine care.
Provide Rehabilitation Skills including daily living activities and ambulation.
Maintain Safe Environment and report hazards or equipment needing repair.
Communicate patient observations to the Registered Nurse.
Maintain quality assurance and infection control per policies; document data in EHR; assist in emergencies.
