Job summary

Corewell Health's Royal Oak Hospital is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg Care Unit (Ortho 9SE). This full-time, night-shift position provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with observation duties as needed.

We offer a sign-on bonus up to $1,500, a comprehensive benefits package, on-demand pay via Payactiv, and retirement options. Schedule: 36 hours per week, nights 6:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with variable days.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Current CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record
