Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide essential patient care across multiple units. You will assist RNs and LPNs with basic care, prepare rooms, and help ensure comfortable, safe patient environments.

The role includes non-professional bedside tasks, documentation in the electronic health record, and supporting admission, discharge, and transport as needed. You must be able to stand long hours and work shifts that include nights.

Qualifications

• Basic care and comfort standards for patients.
• Ability to document patient data in EHR.
• Willingness to support multiple hospital units.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN.
• Administer routine personal care and assist with feeding, bathing, mobility.
• Take and record vital signs and I&O.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transportation.
• Collect and deliver specimens; stock supplies.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and equipment.
• Support ongoing staff development and education.
