Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Neuro Epilepsy program. You’ll provide real-time clinical support, coach staff, and partner with Nurse Managers to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency in a cutting-edge neuro epilepsy setting.

Night shift 7:00pm–7:30am (36 hours). Responsibilities include coordinating admissions and discharges, staff evaluations, and involvement in quality improvement and research initiatives within Unit 52 and

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross; presented upon hire.
• Two years of recent clinical nurse experience.
• Demonstratable clinical knowledge and skills; strong oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments regarding patient care.
• Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts; coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers and other issues.
• Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect care providers.
• Counsel employees on performance issues and monitor attendance concerns.
• Alert Nurse Manager to significant clinical or performance issues.
• Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising staff performance.
• Support quality improvement projects and research initiatives.
