Job summary

Mount Carmel is seeking a Multi-skilled Technician who, under the supervision of a registered nurse, will perform basic patient care activities and support the clinical team. The role includes conducting EKG tests, phlebotomy, and monitoring patient intake/output while assisting with daily living activities.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, and BLS certification is required. Prior patient care experience or health-related education is preferred to help ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• BLS healthcare provider training mandatory.
• Phlebotomy and EKG course work preferred.
• Effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of safety and adheres to policies to protect patients and staff.
• Provides nursing care and maintains patient safety with evidence-based practice.
• Performs basic patient care tasks delegated by an RN, including EKGs and phlebotomy, and records intake/output.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
