Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Multi-skilled Technician to work under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will perform basic patient care tasks, take vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support EKG and phlebotomy duties as trained.

Qualifications

• High school level knowledge; able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic.
• CPR certification on hire or within 60 days.
• Experience in patient care preferred.
• Successful completion of EKG and Phlebotomy course upon hire or transfer.
• Initial clinical competency requirements required to perform duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Take blood glucose measurements and record intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Perform ordered EKGs and Phlebotomy duties as trained and supervised.
• Keep patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings; participate in performance improvement activities.
