Job summary

SGS is seeking a Preparation Technician, Jr. in Sophia, WV to prepare mineral samples for analysis. You will crush samples to standard specifications, label and file them, and ensure accurate data recording.

Ability to follow published standards and instructions precisely.
Capable of maintaining accurate records and paperwork.

Responsibilities

Works under close supervision.
Prepares mineral samples by crushing according to standards using various crushers.
Transfers and labels samples with dates and paperwork.
Files and locates samples for tracking.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance on preparation equipment.
Records all data related to sample preparation accurately.
Keeps equipment and containers clean and organized before/after use.
Wears required PPE at all times.
Complies with local and federal safety processes and procedures.
May assist in Field Operations or Laboratory tasks as needed by business needs.
Adheres to internal standards and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
