Job summary

Mercy Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our hospital laboratory team. The role includes collecting, processing and analyzing blood, body fluids, tissues, and related specimens, and reporting results in compliance with hospital, state and federal regulations.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with clinical internship in Medical Technology, ASCP or NCA certification (or board eligible with certification within one year).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with clinical internship in Medical Technology (Clinical Laboratory Science).
• ASCP or NCA certification - or – board eligible and must become certified within one year.
• One year hospital lab experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates working knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes
• Reports accurate patient laboratory results with minimum errors.
• Reviews results based on knowledge of age related normals.
• Uses quality control results in determining validity of patient results
