Job summary

Universal Health Services, a leading hospital system, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Unit III at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV. This full-time night-shift role delivers safe, patient-centered care within a supportive team environment.

Ideal candidates are NV-licensed RNs with BLS certification and at least 1 year of acute care experience, eager to collaborate and participate in discharge planning and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill; coordinates direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Coordinates the interdisciplinary plan of care; develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet patient/family needs.
• Performs hourly rounds to strengthen communication, safety, and anticipate patient needs; evaluates environment for patient safety.
• Collaborates with patient's care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
• Follows SBAR communication practices to minimize risks during handoffs.
