Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician - Microbiology for overnight weekend shifts. The role involves assisting with testing on patient specimens and supporting diagnostic reporting within a comprehensive hospital system.

Open 24/7, IU Health laboratories process millions of tests annually and serve hospitals statewide. This position requires a related science degree and may require certification within 12 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science ( Certification not required ).
• Associate degree requires certification (NCA, AMT, ASCP, HEW, and CLA) within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Working knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and routine maintenance procedures.
• Ability to maintain quality control and other records.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens.
• Under direction, provide information for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain records of performance and generate test results.
• Perform tasks according to standard operating procedures.
• Assist with development and modification of procedures and take on additional responsibilities as outlined by management.
