Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 to join our clinical team in Texas. The role focuses on performing and monitoring a full range of laboratory tests, upholding quality control, and maintaining instrumentation with supervision as needed.

The position requires applying regulatory procedures, reporting results accurately, and contributing to projects and educational activities while ensuring effective communication across laboratory staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Less than 1 year of Experience.
• Must have one certification from an issuing agency (e.g., ABHI or ASCP variants) or equivalent certification(s).
• Certifications may include: multiple ASCP/AMT/AMT variants and MLS/Medical Technologist certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Follows quality control, QA, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains inventory of supplies.
• Collaborates with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and education.
• Educates others in laboratory methods and technical skills.
