Job summary

6PM–6AM shifts, full‑time position. No prior experience required for graduates of NAACLS/ABHES programs; licensure in Louisiana

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• Military training in medical laboratory procedures (50 weeks) or equivalent.
• 60 semester hours with MLS courses or science courses (chemistry/biology) with required hours.
• Laboratory training program approved by ABHES/NAACLS or 3 months lab training in each high complexity area.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Specimen collection, labeling, processing, and routing through pneumatic tube system.
• Result reporting, recognition of errors, and notification of critical values.
• Perform tests across Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Chemistry, Special Chemistry, ER Stat Lab, Microbiology; and Blood Bank procedures.
• Quality control, documentation, preventive maintenance, and restocking supplies.
• Trainee support and training of new associates and students; adhere to CAP, AABB, CLIA, JCAHO, and OSHA.

Education

Associates Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Military medical laboratory procedures training course (50 weeks)

60 semester hours with MLS or sciences including chemistry/biology

ABHES/NAACLS approved clinical laboratory training program or 3 months lab training in each high complexity area
