Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a clinical Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist unit on the night shift. The RN will implement physician orders, monitor patients, start IVs, administer medications, and document care per policy and regulations.

This role requires NYS RN license, BLS/ACLS, 1–3 years Med-Surg experience, and strong communication. Albany Med Health System offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive team in New York's Capital Region.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 1–3 years of RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and documents care as required by policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of nursing.
