Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Med/Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the 3 West Post-Operative unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This 36-hour-per-week night shift (7p–7a) role includes three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include basic patient care within scope, assisting with emotional and physical needs, and coordinating with RN staff. Qualifications include Maine CNA certification and current BLS; computer skills are

Qualifications

• State of Maine CNA certification.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association).
• Ability to think and work independently and communicate in fast-paced environments.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred: Comfortable using a computer.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
• Assists patients with emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Greets patients and visitors; answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
• Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
