Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration and diesel engines, and to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems.

The role includes performing complex repairs, using service bulletins and manuals, and maintaining shop tools while documenting all work. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with trade schooling in heavy diesel repairs or refrigeration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Trade school in heavy duty diesel repairs and/or refrigeration is preferred.
• ASE PMI certification within 1 year of hire (PMI) is required or expected to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, remove, repair, replace or rebuild components such as clutches, water pumps, tires, tractor suspensions, body parts, rear differentials, drive lines, transmissions, and wheel seals.
