Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Meat Packaging Leader to drive safety, quality, productivity, and team engagement in our packaging operations.

The Packager I Lead reports to the Meat Production Supervisor and leads by example in a hands-on role. You will help ensure safe, accurate, on-time production while coordinating with HR, other Ops leaders, and Sales to address pain points and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of foodservice production experience.
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and supervising instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Complete Packager Utility, Packager, and Packager I training.
• Use Leader Standard Work for daily, weekly, monthly tasks.
• Ensure processes produce finished goods safely, accurately, and on time to internal and external customers.
• Embrace a data-driven approach to allocating resources and completing tasks.
• Communicate weekly grinding department schedule and daily assignments.
• Mentor production team members and coach underperforming behaviors.
• Lead production room huddles to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and KPI updates.
• Participate in weekly check-ins with Meat Production Supervisor to discuss KPI outcomes and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with HACCP plan adherence and safety training (JI/JSA).
• Coordinate with other leaders (HR, Ops, Sales) for smooth operations.
• Collaborate on training opportunities and inventory control activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
