TMS International is hiring a Material Handler for the Birmingham, AL facility to move, store, and manage raw materials and finished steel products with safety as a priority. The night shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The role requires operating forklifts and cranes, maintaining accurate inventory, coordinating with team members to meet production schedules, and ensuring a clean, safe work area. Experience in industrial settings and a strong safety mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes safely; certifications a plus.
• Commitment to safety standards in an industrial setting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, cranes, and material handling equipment.
• Load and unload steel coils, billets, and scrap.
• Ensure proper storage to prevent damage and maintain inventory.
• Assist in inventory tracking and report shortages.
• Perform routine equipment inspections for safe operation.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Coordinate material movement with supervisors and team.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
