JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, the Material Handler III safely ships, packages and cycle counts materials for the warehouse. This position safely packages and moves raw materials, finished goods, scrap materials, equipment and any other miscellaneous materials within the plant to support Manufacturing Department, Warehouse, Lab, Maintenance, and Inventory Accuracy. This role includes driving and maintaining company box trucks while moving materials around campus. This position reports the status of all work to the Leader.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Packages all finished good products with correct packaging materials, labels, and details, per customer specifications.
Follows schedule/instructions for materials to be moved, where to move, and how often.
Operates all powered industrial vehicles (PIV’s) and other equipment to assist with material handling.
Secures proper lifting attachments to PIV’s to move materials properly and safely.
Organizes and stores materials in an efficient manner including attaching identifying labels to materials.
Records all materials movements into Syteline/WMS using a barcode scanner.
Participates and supports Warehouse 6S and PPI initiatives and/or programs.
Participates 100% in year-end full physical inventory count.
Loads and Unloads trucks.
Picks and packs shipments.
Performs cycle counts involving packaging/office supplies.
Drives and maintains company box trucks.
Moves materials from building to building around campus.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Skillsets:
1 year experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Maintenance Repair and Operation (MRO) process
Knowledge of warehouse shipping processes
Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to use a computer; (e.g. Word, Excel, Internet and manufacturing software).
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
Ability to communicate effectively with workers and supervisor.
Ability to deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variables.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Medical certifications for DOT purposes
Class B permit within 30 days of accepting job offer
Class B license within 90 days of hire
Certified Scissor Lift Operator
Preferred Education & Skillsets:
High School Diploma or GED.
Class B Commercial license
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job the employee must:
Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate PIV’s.

Work Environment: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.
