Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Indiana is seeking Material Handlers/Powered Equipment Operators to support production and ensure safe, high-quality food delivery. You will assist in movement of product and maintain a clean, efficient work environment within a fast-paced facility.

We expect you to operate forklifts and related equipment, meet required certifications, and be prepared for a 7 PM–5:30 AM shift with potential overtime. This role emphasizes reliability, safety, and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to follow oral/written instructions.
• Physically demanding tasks and ability to operate equipment with good hand-eye coordination.
• Certifications may be required during the qualification period.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other powered equipment to move product through the facility.
• Meet required certifications during the qualification period and be prepared to work overtime as production demands.
• Support safe, efficient production lines and teamwork across shifts.
