Job summary

Huhtamaki, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Material Handler to move and track packaging materials in our Kansas facility. You will operate forklifts, load and unload goods, and use the computer to document codes, quantities, and locations.

Responsibilities include scanning loads, performing material audits, and completing required paperwork. Candidates should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work effectively in a team within an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Must have forklift experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced facility.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and learn new processes.

Responsibilities

  • Move material through facility with the use of material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, walkie rider, etc.) as required.
  • Use the computer to dispense and receive information such as product codes, part numbers, quantities, locations, comments, etc.
  • Complete paperwork to properly document work performed.
  • Scanning each load to proper locations.
  • Conduct material audits.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and grasp materials.
  • All the above essential functions require the ability to be mobile in an industrial environment, communicate effectively, be mobile within the facility and organize effectively with varying degrees of independence, judgment, and discretion.
  • Must demonstrate skills in teamwork, planning and organizing, initiative, adaptability, communication, and the ability to learn.

SUMMARY

Successfully move material through the facility, computer data entry, complete and process paperwork and conduct material audits.
