Job summary

Huhtamaki in Los Angeles is seeking a reliable forklift operator to move, load and store materials on the manufacturing floor. You will work with raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate inventory and safe handling of products.

The role requires at least one year of forklift experience, ability to read and follow written instructions in English, basic math, and comfortable using a computer to enter data in BPCS/TWI systems.

Qualifications

• Requires forklift experience (minimum 1 year) in a manufacturing environment.
• Must read/write in English and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills for reporting and scanning quantities.
• Basic computer skills for data entry in inventory systems (BPCS/TWI).
• Knowledge of warehousing procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move and store materials, load/unload trucks, trailers and railcars.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and perform weekly cycle counts.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment on the production floor.
• Enter data into BPCS/Transition Works and support planning with daily tasks.
• Trains other warehouse staff in standard operations and safety procedures.

It’s every one of us working together.We offer a place where you can feel safe, be supported, and make an impact so we can all focus on the future together.PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF JOBResponsible for moving and storing materials, supplies, and products throughout the facility in a safe and controlled manner, loading and unloading trucks, trailers and railcars, and monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy.RESPONSABILITIESWork safely at all times, safe work practice policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Separate and palletize finished goods coming from the sealing station to the transfer trailer.Maintain inventory accuracy.Load and unload raw materials from railcars and trailers.Maintain daily forklift check list.Supply production floor with materials and supplies to work stations.Fill orders of end board and ring stock from in-process area.Put away and retrieve materialPull orders from Nestyle blanks rack area.Participate in group problem solving and special projects.Work with Planning for daily work scheduleTrains other employees in all areas of warehouse operation.Understand internal and external customer needs.Maintain department cleanliness to SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.Other duties may apply.Perform weekly cycle countsEnters data into BPCS, Transition WorksProvides relief for sealing station when neededDrives forklifts in the operation of their workCarries out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate to the position.SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilityEDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS :High School Diploma or GED preferred but not requiredForklift Operator’s license or documented training course certificationSKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSMust have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the operation of a forklift (experience in a manufacturing environment)Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting to written or verbal instructionBasic understanding of math concept to complete reporting requirementsMust possess basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWIKnowledge in Inventory control preferredBasic knowledge of the BPCS or any related inventory management system preferredAbility to operate powered material handling equipmentKnowledge of warehousing and warehouse procedures preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDSNote: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsLift up to 35 lbs. to shoulder height, lift up to 70 lbs. total.Ability to climb onto and off of powered equipment (forklift)Ability to sit for extended periods of time (regularly 8 hours)Bend and stoop frequentlyAbility to Stand and walk up to 4 hoursENVIRONMENTWill spend 100% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which will require the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.Join us.
