Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a full-time night shift to perform routine checks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and related systems to keep the hospital environment safe and compliant.

You will respond to maintenance requests, inspect facilities for safety, document work orders, and coordinate with contractors while maintaining current inventory and supplies for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, plumber, HVAC service specialist, painter, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a trade under a licensed business.
• Current journeyman, electrician, plumbing, HVAC, painting or related Florida license preferred.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Available for on-call duties during evenings and weekends when assigned.
• Able to complete reports and work orders in English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine maintenance checks across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting and related areas.
• Responds to department maintenance requests affecting hospital environment and equipment.
• Returns work areas to a clean, neat, safe condition and disposes of waste properly.
• Performs basic building installation such as shelves, desks, bulletin boards.
• Inspects buildings to ensure safety and determine repair needs.
• Assists in preparing job estimates and coordinating with contractors.
• Maintains records and inventory for A/C filters and other common maintenance items.
