Description

Imperia Foods, a division of Schuman Cheese, is now hiring a Night Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team!

Shift hours: Monday - Friday, 10PM - 6AM

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks within the plant including:
• Electrical work
• Equipment repair
• Wiring
• Pneumatics
• Pump and motor repair
• Stainless steel TIG welding
• Advanced mechanics
• Other needed repairs throughout the plant
• Respond to maintenance calls and needs within all areas of the plant
• Diagnose, service and repair equipment effectively and efficiently
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks per the established schedule
• Actively work to minimize downtime and keep production running
• Troubleshoot problems that occur and determine root cause solutions
• Support the installation of new equipment or other maintenance related projects as needed
• Complete paperwork, documentation and checklists in a thorough, accurate and legible manner
• Comply with all applicable safety, food safety and GMP policies

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years maintenance experience
• Food industry experience preferred
• PLC knowledge a plus
• Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency
• Able to prioritize multiple demands
• Able to remain calm under pressure
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Focus on root cause determination and solution
• Strong organizational skills paying special attention to details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self motivated with a strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to contribute to a team environment.
• Understands and abides by GMP's and food safety guidelines
• Ability to speak read and write in English.
• Fluent in Spanish is preferred but not required
  
  

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods at a time
• Able to work inside a freezer or cooler and in cheese processing environment temperatures (48 – 52 degrees F.)
