Job summary

The Swan Food Company is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for its Ohio facility. This full-time role operates on the 3rd shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, focusing on preventive maintenance and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure maximum uptime.

Responsibilities include mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, equipment setup, and root-cause analysis, with SAP used to document activities and coordinate with operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
