Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in Douglas, GA is seeking a Level I Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations by performing corrective and preventive maintenance with emphasis on reliability and maintainability. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience and a 2-year technical degree is preferred.

Candidates should have mechanical/electrical aptitude, basic computer skills, and the ability to read technical docs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong Mechanical or Electrical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing equipment.
• Must be familiar with normal shop equipment such as drill press, band saw and portable power tools.
• Must be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A minimum of 1 year of industrial manufacturing or comparable skills demonstration required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunction using logical and systematic methodologies.
• Complete routine preventive tasks such as cleaning, inspection and minor service or overhaul.
• Replace identified parts or components that have failed.
• Adjust equipment to bring it into operational specifications.
• Maintain machinery lubrication requirements.
• Recommend process or procedure changes based on observed equipment behavior.
• Maintain current and accurate maintenance data to determine establish historical records and future maintenance requirements.
