Job summary

Quad/Graphics is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support the production presses and equipment. You will learn to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems while helping keep downtime to a minimum.

The position offers on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement, with a wage range of $24.00–$33.50 per hour based on experience, and comprehensive benefits. Training will focus on safe, efficient operation in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Must provide a basic set of personal hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on web offset presses and auxiliary equipment with guidance from experienced technicians.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
• Learn to read and use equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics to complete repairs.
• Help inspect, maintain, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, gears, couplings, and pneumatic components.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with press operators, maintenance team members, and supervisors.
• Assist with basic welding and other mechanical tasks as needed.
• Help identify potential equipment issues before they lead to downtime.
