Job summary

Kymera International is seeking a Laborer / Machine Shop Trainee in Chesapeake, VA, onsite. You will receive hands-on training to perform mechanical tasks, learn machine operation and thermal spray processes, and help maintain a safe, organized shop environment.

The role emphasizes reliability, attendance, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn and grow on the job. Onsite position with safety-focused, collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some technical or laborer experience training preferred.
• Prior manufacturing or machining exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate machines and gain hands-on experience with machine and thermal spray operations.
• Safely hoist, load, and secure components for processing.
• Safely use hand tools and basic shop equipment (grinders, polishers, spot welders).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; assist with shipping/receiving as needed.
• Support moving, lifting, and organizing materials; use forklift/overhead cranes under supervision.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
