Job summary

Kymera International – Thermal Spray Solutions in Chesapeake, VA, is hiring a Laborer / Machine Shop Trainee for the evening shift 6:00PM–2:30AM. The role provides hands-on training in machine operation and thermal spray processes, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will assist with machine operation, tool handling, material movement, and shop maintenance while learning on the job and growing technical skills. On‑site, full‑time, competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some technical training and/or laborer/helper experience training preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, machining, or repair environment is a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• On‑the‑job training will be provided for required skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate machines in the machine shop and gain hands‑on experience with machine and thermal spray operations.
• Safely use hand tools and basic shop equipment, including grinders, polishers, dot welders, and other common tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the machine shop and thermal spray areas.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and organizing materials in the shop, including forklifts and overhead cranes under supervision.
• Provide support across shop and production areas, including shipping, receiving, errands, and miscellaneous projects as needed.
