Job summary

Pretium Packaging, L.L.C. is seeking a Machine Operator for our Salt Lake City facility operating on a 2-2-3 shift (6:00PM - 6:30AM).

You will set up and run production equipment, monitor performance, perform routine maintenance, and inspect containers to ensure quality standards are met. Responsibilities include coordinating with the prior shift, adjusting equipment to specifications, maintaining safe operations, recording material levels, and adhering to all safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a machine operator in the plastics industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
• Knowledge of blow molding machine operation and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with different types of plastic materials and their properties.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks and inspections.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up production lines to meet quality and product standards.
• Familiarize yourself with daily production goals for each line.
• Evaluate and discuss machinery operation with the previous shift and adjust equipment as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and report problems.
• Conduct quality checks on containers and document adjustments.
• Maintain defined material levels and keep work area clean.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE properly.
• Keep workstation and surrounding area clean and organized.
• Possibly work overtime and attend after-hours meetings.
• May perform other duties as requested.
