THOMPSON HARDWOODS INC is seeking an Entry Level Sorter Bin Operator for night shifts in Hazlehurst, GA. This role involves operating and monitoring the lumber sorting system, inspecting lumber quality, and coordinating with the sawmill team to maintain smooth production flow.

The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina for standing and lifting, and a willingness to work flexible hours. Training will be provided for grading standards and sorting processes, with a focus on safety

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the sorter system to ensure lumber is directed into the correct bins.
• Visually inspect lumber for size, grade, and quality to ensure proper sorting.
• Communicate with sawmill team to maintain consistent production flow.
• Clear jams, remove debris, and assist with troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sorter area.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
