Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time 7p-7a shift in the Archer Adolescent Unit. You will provide comprehensive nursing care under the direction of the registered nurse and ensure care aligns with policy, standards, and provider orders.

You will perform assessments, document meticulously, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana Practical Nurse license or compact state license.
• BLS-CPR certification required.
• Must be adaptable to change and decisive with forethought.
• Strong problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care under the direction of the RN.
• Document accurately according to hospital policy.
• Demonstrate competency with technology and computers.
• Demonstrate competency in medication administration and unit procedures.
• Organize patient care and delegate tasks to unlicensed staff as appropriate.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team from admit to discharge.
• Support and participate in evidence-based nursing practice and unit PI plans.
