Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state employed.
• One year experience in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Implements physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
• Assigns nursing care to team members based on needs and qualifications.
• Supervises and evaluates junior staff and CNAs.
• Administers medications and treatments and documents per policy.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Ensures supplies are used economically and equipment is maintained safely.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care with therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interviews applicants and participates in staff counseling and discipline within scope of state law.
