Job summary

Care Initiatives, Corning Specialty Care in Corning, IA, is seeking a Charge Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our 40-bed skilled nursing community. The LPN will provide comprehensive care, lead nursing on the unit, and support residents and families.

Responsibilities include assessments, wound care, medications, and staff supervision. Eligible applicants must hold an Iowa LPN license and CPR certification, with supervisory coursework within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in good standing in the state of Iowa or ability to activate.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Documented completion of State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents' clinical status and contribute to care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care including wound treatments, IV therapy (as permitted), catheter care and other skilled interventions as ordered.
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments with safe, accurate administration and documentation.
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit, coordinating resident care and communicating with physicians, leaders, residents and families.
• Supervise, mentor, and support CNAs and other staff, promoting teamwork and high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, infection prevention practices and Care Initiatives policies.
• Provide education, guidance and emotional support to residents and families.
