As an LPN, you will provide patient care within state scope, administer medications, monitor vitals, and document in MAR while collaborating with the care team to support offender health in a correctional facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
• Active CPR certification.
• Remains knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing practice.
• Completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes a systematic approach to meet health needs of patients.
• Provides care within LPN scope of practice and complies with laws in the practice setting.
• Assists in teaching plans for health promotion and restoration of health.
• Cares for wounds with cleaning and dressing.
• Administers medications to offenders.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to medical staff.
• Documents actions in MAR and medical records.
• Other nursing duties as assigned by facility.
