Job summary

Marie Leising & Associates has a busy, high-quality sheetfed printing operation in VA seeking an experienced Lead Offset Press Operator for a 12-hour night shift. The role requires guiding a night team, ensuring quality and uptime on 40" presses, and championing continuous improvement.

The position features a starting hourly rate of $30–$38 plus shift differential, benefits, a 401(k) match, and relocation assistance. Relocation support is provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years' experience operating multi-unit 40" sheetfed offset presses.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Continuous Improvement Methods to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Press employee training experience.
• Team building skills.
• UV experience a plus.
• PC proficient (basic skills).

Responsibilities

• Lead the night shift sheetfed team in printing jobs meeting company quality standards while maintaining optimum speeds and minimal downtime.
• Make ready 40" press for job runs to meet specifications, and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the job.
• Provide guidance and leadership to the sheetfed team to ensure tasks are completed on-time and effectively.
• Assist pressroom manager and pressman with troubleshooting printing issues and QC sign offs.
• Train, develop and motivate team members.
• Assist pressroom manager and maintenance in the upkeep of machine activity logs and part usage logs.
• Work with the pressroom manager and plant manager on continuous improvement projects.
