Job summary

Phoenix Children's Core Laboratory seeks an experienced Lead Medical Technologist to join the night shift team. This leadership role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate, timely patient results across chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, and coagulation.

Ideal candidates will lead independently, support staff development, and uphold patient safety and continuous improvement within a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading laboratory staff and coordinating shift coverage.
• Ability to mentor, train, and develop staff through onboarding and ongoing education.
• Advanced proficiency in chemistry quality control review and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in instrument maintenance and troubleshooting across multiple laboratory platforms.
• Experience performing and interpreting abnormal manual differential counts.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for night shift operations and serve as primary contact for operational issues.
• Oversee staff activities to achieve goals and support ongoing staff development.
• Monitor department budgets and ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and standardization efforts.
• Maintain professional competency through reading current literature and applying new knowledge.
