Job summary

The Seattle Times is seeking a reliable Production Worker (Lead) to join our Packaging and Assembly team in Kent, WA. Lead responsibilities include coordinating with the team to prepare print products, supervise activities, and ensure quality output for daily publications.

Expected to work nights with a flexible schedule. Prior lead experience is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds on shift.

Qualifications

• Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have basic math and English communication skills.
• Willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Guide team during insertion, packaging, assembly, and labelling of products.
• Operate/manual and mechanical insert machines; collate additional print products.
• Maintain production line and ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Bundle and package products for final delivery to customers and businesses.
• Organize bundles by delivery routes and carrier drop-off points.
• Set up machinery for daily page specs and clear jams as needed.
