Job summary

TWB Canton, a joint venture of Worthington Steel and BAO Steel, is hiring a Laser Weld Operator for night shift in Canton, MI. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training with 12-hour shifts, and a pathway to develop in a metal processing environment.

The successful candidate will operate laser weld equipment, support material flow, set up/changeovers, inspect products, and perform basic troubleshooting while meeting safety and quality standards. Benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings preferred.
• Experience with machine operation, setup and changeovers preferred.
• Basic math and writing skills required.
• Ability to read measuring devices.
• Hazard communication and lockout/tagout knowledge encouraged.
• Forklift possible after training.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, quality and production procedures.
• Operate equipment and support timely order processing.
• Maintain material flow to support production.
• Complete machine setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Inspect material, identify defects and escalate as needed.
• Stand up to 12 hours daily and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Communicate clearly and document information.
