Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of operating non-complex equipment.
• 1-2 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and organizes samples for testing, including racking, aliquoting and tube preparation.
• Labels, handles, processes or prepares specimens and ensures proper transportation and storage.
• Identifies sample problems and assists in resolving them.
• Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventive maintenance; notifies staff of issues.
• Assists licensed personnel in pre-analytic and post-analytic testing activities.
• Prepares reagents and controls using automated or fixed-volume devices; documents for approvals.
• Maintains records of reagents or media and inventories supplies.
• Performs data entry and transcribes results to the LIS as needed.
• Tallies workload data and prepares reports; contributes to quality control.
