Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year prior laboratory assistance and/or phlebotomy training required at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, identify, label, and process patient specimens according to policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Prepare and transport specimens for analysis, including centrifuging, aliquoting, and storage, maintaining timely flow to departments.
• Review laboratory requisitions for accuracy and medical necessity, communicating with staff to resolve issues.
• Support patient registration, assist with specimen automation loading, and collaborate with nursing and lab personnel.
• Conduct phlebotomy via venipuncture or micro-technique and provide training to other assistants as directed.
