Job summary

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR is seeking an L&D RN for night shifts to provide bedside obstetric and newborn care across triage, labor, delivery, and postpartum. You will interpret fetal monitoring, support vaginal and cesarean births, administer medications, and document clearly with a collaborative care team.

You will participate in Baby-Friendly practices and ongoing AWHONN/NRP education to grow professionally in a supportive OB unit.

Qualifications

Current Arkansas RN license (or compact eligible).
BLS at hire; NRP within 6 months of hire.
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course per recommendations; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred: BSN; 2+ years OB nursing; ACLS; STABLE within 1 year; RNC-OB encouraged.

Responsibilities

Triage and assess OB patients; update care plans; inform providers.
Monitor labor and delivery; support vaginal and cesarean births; manage epidurals as needed.
Start IVs; administer oxytocin and meds; document responses per protocol.
Postpartum care and education; monitor for hemorrhage, infection, hypertension; teach newborn care.
Newborn checks; support temperature, breathing and glucose stability.
Provide SBAR handoffs; uphold Baby-Friendly practices and accurate EHR documentation.
