Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift in Seattle, WA. Requires a WA or compact RN license and 3+ years of L&D experience, with BLS/NRP, and Epic charting proficiency.

Responsibilities include 1:1 care, fetal monitoring, and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in a Magnet-designated teaching center with Level 4 Trauma status. Night schedule is 19:00–07:30; weekend coverage required.

Qualifications

• Active WA RN license or compact license required.
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with high-risk delivery, C-section circulating/recovery, and fetal monitoring.
• Experience managing high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP, placenta previa, and preterm labor.
• Skilled in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline.
• Experience with postpartum and newborn care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for adult women of childbearing age.
• Unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage bays, 2 PACU bays, and 16 mother-baby beds.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30).
• Weekend work required unless otherwise specified on posted schedule.
• Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals.
• Block scheduling not accommodated unless stated otherwise.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation support, and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching center with Level 4 Trauma status.
• Scrubs of any color accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel.
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions.
• RTO limited to 1 week maximum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment.
• Holiday coverage required.
• First-time travelers considered only if they have 3+ years of L&D experience.
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler.
