Responsibilities

• Enforces facility policy and procedures for operation of the jail facility.
• Treats inmates with dignity and respect, and deals with them fairly and firmly.
• Supervises and controls movement of inmates and visitors.
• Monitors inmate movement in housing units and controls access.
• Ensures policies for equipment, valuables, and bonds are followed.
• Screens visitors to prevent unauthorized access and inspects for contraband.
• Operates vehicles safely and in accordance with regulations.
• Uses restraint equipment correctly to prevent escapes or injuries.
• Reports incidents to Shift Supervisor, Jail Administrator, or Captain.
• Maintains effective communication with staff and ensures reliable attendance.
