Job summary

Abbott in Casa Grande, AZ, is hiring an Instrumentation Technician for the 6:00 PM–6:00 AM night shift. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and control systems on production lines at a leading nutrition manufacturing site.

The role requires knowledge of PLCs, electrical theory, and safety practices, with opportunities to advance through Abbott's extensive global platform and training programs.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong understanding of electricity, electrical theory, PLCs and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work safely in electrical panels up to 480 volts.
• Proficient in reading schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment, power systems, lighting, control systems and PLC logic.
• Work with electrical power (24V-600V), automation controllers, VFDs, sensors and inspection devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and instruments.
• Use tools such as voltage testers, ammeters, oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers, and laser measurement equipment.
• Lead and train team members; document and communicate shift activities clearly.
• Support plant operations across packaging, processing, filling, warehouse, and facilities.
• Respond to equipment emergencies, troubleshoot I/O systems, and minimize downtime.
• Participate in electrical upgrades and monitor contractor work.
• Maintain compliance with FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies.
