Job summary

Altru Health System seeks an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to coordinate and replenish narcotic and non-narcotic medication distribution across the health system. Responsibilities include IV preparation, dispensing, inventory, and record-keeping to ensure safe, timely patient access to medications.

The role supports sterile and non-sterile compounding, adheres to security policies for controlled substances, and requires ND Pharmacy Technician certification prior to start.

Qualifications

• Current North Dakota Pharmacy Technician certification required prior to start.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate automated dispensing systems and cart fill for efficient medication availability.
• Inventory management for automated systems; address discrepancies and waste.
• Resolve operational problems and provide technical support to pharmacy and nursing staff.
• Adhere to the department's controlled substance security policy.
• Prepare sterile and/or non-sterile medications as required.
• Perform Tech-Check-Tech per North Dakota Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
• Maintain patient and department records in compliance with regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet department needs.
