Job summary

DeQuincy Memorial is seeking a Mental Health Technician or CNA for full-time night shifts. The role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and supports therapeutic services within a medical unit.

The position requires a High School diploma (preferred) and experience with mentally ill patients; readiness to assist in daily living activities and emergencies, while ensuring patient safety. On-site location in DeQuincy, LA.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• One year experience with acute or chronic mentally ill clients preferred.
• High School diploma preferred; additional schooling in psychiatric/psychology a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Observe, evaluate, document and communicate patients’ behavior and progress.
• Assist in activities of daily living and responds to emergencies as appropriate.
• Maintain patients’ safety within the environment and participate in groups/program activities.
