Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Night Shift in a Medical-Surgical unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Dickson City. You will provide individualized, evidence-based nursing care within the nursing process and primary nursing principles in accordance with hospital policies.

Responsibilities include implementing the medical plan of care, documenting care, coordinating discharge planning, and communicating patient Needs to the RN.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma LPN Program.
• Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Basic computer skills, critical thinking, and concentration.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.
• LPN license (Pennsylvania) Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the skills and judgement necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing intervention, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team in order to ensure quality care.
• Identifies discharge-planning needs of patient/family/significant other on admission and throughout the course of care.
• Identifies patient care problems and communicates them to RN.
• Works within Scope of Practice for the LPN, as outlined by the Pennsylvania Code.
